GOT #2: The TBR Tag

Being tagged into another awesome and fun tag made me come up with making my Tagged Post officially called the Game of Tags. Well, it's quite obvious how I'm such a sucker for Martin's GoT. Anyway, Lola of Hit or Miss Books tagged me again to another bookish Game of Tags, The TBR Tag. It's a tag created by Dana of Dana Square and Rachel of A Perfection Called Books. All these questions are just about TBR list. This tag is about mine, of course. he-he
How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I do it in three ways actually since I have 3 TBRs. (a) One is through my E-book reader in my phone. Most of the list in my phone are recently published books that are emailed to me by authors requesting book reviews. Once I'm done with the review, it's either I delete them or I save them to my laptop. It's just a matter of what's worth re-reading. (b) Second is through my actual bookshelf. I separate the ones I read from the ones I still have to read and (c) Third is of course is through Goodreads. Goodreads is the easiest to track the pile.
Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
Although I'd love my prints to win this, if my e-book reader and Goodreads list will join their forces, ebook will definitely overpower my prints. I have 20 paperback and 1 hardbound TBRs. I have 48 in Goodreads and 23 in my ebook reader. I only kept my Goodreads few because I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to keep track of them since I don't login that much these days. Ooppsie.
How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
I prioritize my book review requests. I know most of them are from newbie writers but it feels great to help them. It's one way of supporting writers the way I want to be supported if I'm in their shoes. I pick the one with the most interesting plot (sometimes, the shortest page count... nyahaha, talk about being lazy sometimes). When it comes to my prints, I pick them randomly and when I say randomly, it's closing my eyes and running my fingers to the pile and pick the book wherever my fingers stop. (Childish much?)
A Book That's Been On Your TBR List The Longest

Before Ever After been on my shelf since last year. It was a birthday gift from my brother and I still haven't read it yet. His main reason of giving me this gift was for me to be inspired to write books since the author of this book is a Filipina. Ever since one of my manuscripts was published in a local publishing, my brother has been goofing around telling me to make another one better since the one published was kind of uhmm. cheesy and cliche, as he puts it. He sometimes makes fun of me about it. (sighs) Hopefully, I'll finish this book this year. I've read a lot of amazing reviews and it's average rating in Goodreads is 3.77. Not bad.

A Book You Recently Added To Your TBR
I've never read a Cecelia Ahern book ever but I know her since I see her books filed next to Paulo Coelho's book in the National Bookstore. I've also read some positive reviews about her work. It's just until yesterday that I saw the trailer of the movie Love, Rosie starring Lily Collins of The Mortal Instruments and Sam Claflin of The Catching Fire that I decided to finally read Ahern's Love, Rosie. I figured, if this trailer hints an amazing movie, then it means I'm definitely going to love the book since  STORIES ARE MORE AWESOME IN BOOKS THAN IN MOVIES. To all those who love stories about best friends, then this is definitely for you.

A Book In Your TBR Strictly Because Of Its Beautiful Cover
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9477931-brightly-woven

It's not everyday that I easily get attracted to covers with pretty faces. I'm usually attracted to covers with comical drawings like the covers of Rainbow Rowell's books but this one is an exception. The cover itself reflects the title Brightly Woven. It screams magic, adventure and love (oh look at the eye). Hopefully, I can finally read it this year.

A Book On Your TBR That You Never Plan on Reading

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/152407.Lady_Boss?from_search=true

"NEVER" would be such a harsh word to say. I would prefer, NOT NOW??? This book has been in my shelf for quiet some time. Maybe I'm just pressured because it is thick (I mean really, really thick and hardbound). I'll give it a try next year. After all, Goodreads average ratinng of it is 4.05. That says something, right?

An Unpublished Book On Your TBR That You’re Excited For
Prepare to be moonstrucked! Lolz. None! Yes! You heard it right! I don't have an unpublished book on my TBR. I've read a lot of amazing upcoming books. I've listed them all in my notepad so when they're finally out, I'll add them up. But I do have a book that I'm excited to read. It's published just recently. I mean really really recently. Adrian Lessons by L.A. Rose, I'll be posting my review of it next week. Yey!!

A Book On Your TBR That Basically Everyone’s Read But You
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10429045-shatter-me

So everyone has been shattered by Tahereh Mafi's series except me. :( Mafi was actually in Cebu, I think that was late last year of early this year but I wasn't there. (grunts) Work, work, work. So everyone has been touched by the power of this book. Hopefully, this year, I will be too.

A Book On Your TBR That Everyone Recommends To You
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15795357-eleanor-and-park?from_search=true It's been months since I have added this in my ebook reader. I know Rowell is awesome. I have proved it with her Attachments book. Please, give me time. Even the sales lady at the bookstore recommends it. I've already scheduled this one. Oh, Wake me up when September ends because October will be Rowell's month for me.

A Book On Your TBR That You’re Dying To Read
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4588949-the-sorceress?from_search=true This is the third book of Michael Scott's The Alchemist series which I believe Harry Potter fans will definitely love. It's in my reading table awaiting for me to grab. I just couldn't find the time to do so. Oh, how I wish it's holiday everyday so my work would give me some break. huhu. One thing about this book is that I always forget the time when I'm reading it. I even forget to eat. (Carried away much??)

How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
This one's an easy answer. Ha-ha since I only have few TBR in Goodreads. Only 48 so I don't get pressured.
WOW!! THAT WAS QUIET LONG BUT FUN!!

People I wish to read their TBR Tag post (I tag:)
Drum roll please. I'm tagging..
Joy of The Bookshelf Intruder (Again, you'll always be the first in the list. ha-ha!)

Hope you guys will have fun the same as I did. Enjoy browsing your TBR. :)

  1. It was long right?? I thought the same thing. Oh, I take I skipped the ''How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?'' question. I don't remember answering it. :O Oh yeah, many people have read Shatter Me and it's a pretty good book. Haven't read Eleanor & Park either but I do own it in hardcover. Also, yes! Me too! I recently saw the trailer for the Love, Rosie movie and then realized there was a book behind it. Awesome answers! :) And banner!

    1. hehe.. That was years ago lai and I was still in college. It's a Tagalog Romance. You know na.. It's in my blog. I posted about it last 2012. It's funny because the editor wanted me to add some specific details and I couldn't do it because I was busy with my thesis (and I don't know how) so the editor ended up making that part.

  5. You should definitely read Before Ever After. I did enjoy that one when I read it last year. I have more eBooks than prints, but it doesn't matter. :)

  6. Well congratulations to you for having something in print! That's fantastic!

Before Ever After not only looks pretty fantastic, but it has an excellent title and I'm definitely going to look into it, see what it's about. It might be a book for me to add to my tbr (which I don't know if I should let grow any larger, but oh well! Books!). I hope you like it when you get to it!

    1. I hope so too. Thanks for dropping Romi. I've heard some reviews that Before Ever After is quiet comparable to The Time Traveller's Wife. Judging from it, I guessing this should be a tear-jerker too.
