Movie Monday: #WALANG FOREVER

Happy New Year! I'm back and Movie Monday is also back to feature one of the Metro Manila Film Festival entries this year 2015, #WALANG FOREVER.

SYNOPSIS

Mia, a celebrated writer of romantic-comedy films, is at a turning point in her life which makes it difficult for her to believe that love could last. Everything comes to a head when Ethan returns, only for her to find out that he has become a cynic of lasting love because she broke his heart.

MY THOUGHTS

To be completely honest, I watched the movie because the title captured my attention. #WALANG FOREVER ("There's no forever") seemed to be fun watch in the MMFF films. I'm a fan of romcoms (mostly Hollywood romcoms) and since I've became Jennelyn Mercado's fan since I watched her 2014 MMFF entry "English Only, Please" which landed her the Best Actress Award last year, I definitely made sure to watch the film before I leave for Dapitan. 

The plot is unique although it seemed like the twist just came out of nowhere but still it managed to give the whole movie a nice touch. The lines are completely awesome and relating. Yes! There were tearjerker scenes. My best friend cried while watching it.

The J-J tandem is wonderful. Jennelyn and Jericho were indeed perfect for the role. They have the chemistry that I wonder if they never felt awkward about the roles considering that this was their first project together.

Anyways, all in all, from a movie watcher like me, I can rate it 4 stars for the fun and light plot. No wonder they gathered all the awards in the 2015 MMFF Awards Night. (Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Original Story, Best Picture, Best Screenplay and FPJ Memorial Award of Excellence).
