STATUS: IN A RELATIONSHIP

While February is just around the corner, SURPRISE!!!! No, it's not an FB change status announcement. I am still single and happy and this post is not about romantic relationships. I just sensed this sudden urged to share this reflection that popped up in my head while re-watching Ironman 3.

Remember that blonde girlfriend of Superhero Tony Stark, The Ironman? Her name is Pepper Potts. As I watched a replay of Iron Man 3, there's this scene that really struck me.
There's this scene in the end part where Iron Man failed to save her from falling. Potts, who was infected by the Extremis power, survived her fall, intervenes the ongoing fight of Iron Man and the villain and successfully defeated the villain. Overwhelmed, shocked and scared by the power she was capable of doing, she asked if she was going to be okay.

 Iron Man replied...

Living a Christian life is never easy. There'll be amazing moments and there'll be sad times. Our relationship with the Lord doesn't promise an always OKAY situation in this world. This world is tough and situations can be cruel. There will be series of unexpected turns of events, overwhelming successes, mistakes and regrets. Along with series of smiles and victories, there will be struggles and hardships. There will times when things may be hard to comprehend and situations may not go according to what is planned but in all these things, one thing is for sure. We have a tougher GOD, stronger than Iron, sturdier than Steel, loving as ever and powerful beyond our own understanding and He is always with us. He allows things to happen, good and bad for our own good.

"Even a plant needs to feel the pain of being trimmed to grow further." I believe  this is what having a relationship with the Lord is. The willingness to face the NOT OKAYs of life, willingness to learn from MISTAKES and trusting the wills of the Lord.

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

Have a merry "In-a-relationship" FEB-ibig month ahead.
